  • Why Has The FDA Tried So Hard To Block The Sales Of E Cigarettes

    Advertisment

You would have to live on another planet to not know approximately how many people die each year from complications because of smoking tobacco. Over the past one hundred years it would be very difficult to come up with an accurate number of the total people that have died due to tobacco smoking, the number would be staggering. Despite the many stop smoking campaigns, smoke out day, and all of the products designed to help people give cigarettes up, so many continue to smoke and new people take up the habit everyday.

This is why it is so hard to understand why the FDA has done everything in its power and even some things that they were told were not in their power to stop and block the shipments and sales of electronic cigarettes. Although most e cigarette companies and distributors stay away from making blatant health claims about their product, it would only be an idiot that could not see that it is a much better alternative for smokers than using tobacco. So, why would the FDA not embrace such a product that has the potential to convert millions of tobacco smokers to a better way to get their nicotine?

Tobacco will never be outlawed in this country or at least not in our lifetime. The FDA knows they do not have the power to do that and they would not even try because it would be for nothing. The next best thing they could do would be to allow and encourage those who still smoke tobacco to try an e cigarette and at least get the tar, toxic smoke and the deadly chemicals out of their system. Those who market the e cigarette and those who are already using it can not understand what it is that is driving the FDA to so vehemently oppose this product. They are supposed to encourage and be all for the things that consumers use that are better for them and totally against things like tobacco that has been a known killer for many years.

It remains to be seen how this battle will end. What former tobacco smokers that now use an electric cigarette want to know is what side is the FDA taking, that of the big tobacco companies or the side of the people that they are supposed to do their best to protect? As far as this issue is concerned at least, it does not appear they are taking the side of those who want to get burning tobacco out of thei life and replace it with a better choice.
